When Is the Best Time to Visit Uzbekistan?

Any time of the year!

People come to Uzbekistan for its magnificent historical architecture, delicious cuisine, unique Oriental atmosphere, hospitality, and sense of safety. All of this accompanies travelers regardless of the season - even in winter and summer.

One summer in Istanbul, I saw a huge line for tickets to Hagia Sophia. People were standing for a long time under the scorching sun without complaining about the heat. They were the same kind of tourists who also travel to Uzbekistan.

If you have read that Uzbekistan should only be visited in April-May or September-October, this stereotype dates back to the 1990s and still circulates on the internet today.

At that time, the tourism infrastructure was far less developed: there were not enough comfortable hotels or air conditioners, so mild weather really helped make trips more comfortable.

Today, tourism seasonality in Uzbekistan is more of a myth. From a scientific perspective, the concept of a “strict tourist season” is quite conditional: tourism studies view seasonality primarily as a socio-economic factor rather than a limitation for travel.

I specialize in year-round, all-weather excursions and can offer exciting tours across Uzbekistan both in winter and summer while maintaining comfort and unforgettable travel experiences.

For example, in winter, sightseeing tours of historic cities can be combined with a stay at the Amirsoy and Chimgan ski resorts, as well as attending the spectacular traditional horseback game Kupkari.

Rain and snowfall are relatively rare in Uzbekistan - the country enjoys more than 250 sunny days per year.

In summer, you can relax at your hotel pool during the day and go on excursions in the evening.

At the same time, summer in Uzbekistan cannot be considered the hottest in the world - many countries experience even more extreme temperatures and harsher climates.
For example, in Turkiye, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, India, Vietnam, and Thailand, tourists face not only heat but also high humidity, which is much harder to tolerate than a dry climate. In Uzbekistan, summers are hot but dry, so high temperatures feel significantly more comfortable here. In addition, most excursions take place in the morning and evening, while during the daytime you can relax in a cool hotel, traditional teahouse, or by the pool.
